Enterokinase (light chain) is a highly specific protease that recognizes the Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys sequence, cleaving peptides at the C-terminus of Lys. In vivo, it converts trypsinogen into active trypsin and can also cleave fusion proteins containing this recognition sequence.
