| Cat# |
MDE-004 |
| Specification |
100 mg, 1 g, 10 g, 100 g |
| Description |
Proteinase K is a serine protease with broad substrate specificity, preferentially cleaving near hydrophobic, sulfur-containing, and aromatic amino acids. It contains the catalytic triad Asp39-His69-Ser224 and two Ca²⁺-binding sites that enhance stability. This mNGS-grade version features reduced nucleic acid residues, ensuring higher accuracy in metagenomic sequencing applications. |
| Applications |
Used for sample processing prior to high-throughput sequencing (NGS) library construction to ensure nucleic acid purity. |
| Activity |
≥ 40 U/mg |
| Unit Definition |
One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to hydrolyze milk casein to produce 1 μmol of L-tyrosine per minute under specified conditions. |
| Storage |
Shelf life of 36 months when stored as a dry powder at ≤8 °C. |
