DNase I (Glycerol-free)

Cat# DIA-469
Description A deoxyribonuclease that randomly cleaves ssDNA and dsDNA, producing 5′-phosphate oligonucleotides. Activity depends on Ca2+ and is activated by Mg2+ or Mn2+. Glycerol-free, suitable for lyophilization.
Unit Definition One unit (U) is defined as the amount of enzyme required to completely degrade 1 μg of pBR322 plasmid DNA in 10 minutes at 37 °C.
Storage –20 °C
Synonyms Deoxyribonuclease I
Contaminants Free of RNase contamination
Applications Preparation of DNA-free RNA samples; removal of genomic DNA contamination prior to RT-PCR; elimination of DNA templates after in vitro transcription with T7, T3, or SP6 RNA polymerases; footprinting assays for DNA–protein interaction analysis; nick translation when combined with DNA polymerase I; DNA fragmentation to generate random libraries in the presence of Mn2+; positive control for DNA fragmentation in apoptosis TUNEL assays.
