| Descriptions | Chymase is a proteolytic enzyme found primarily in mast cells (MCs), fibroblasts, and vascular endothelial cells. In response to inflammatory signals, tissue damage, and cellular stress, chymase is released into the extracellular matrix. Chymase also plays a role in the production of angiotensin II (Ang II) and is studied in the context of cardiovascular disease. |
