Recombinant Neuraminidase (NRH)

Cat# BDE-053
Description Neuraminidase (NRH) hydrolyzes N-acetylneuraminic acid residues from glycoproteins and oligosaccharides. Given the role of sialic acid (SA) as a tumor marker, enzymatic SA detection offers speed and automation compatibility. NRH initiates the enzymatic reaction in SA assay kits, making it essential for accurate measurement.
Applications Used for the hydrolysis of terminal sialic acid on glycoproteins, widely applied in glycan analysis and virology research.
Enzyme Commission Number EC 3.2.1.18
Form White lyophilized powder, or liquid
Source Recombinant protein expression
Activity 100 U/mg
Unit Definition One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to catalyze the hydrolysis of 1 μmol of sialic acid per minute under specified assay conditions (pH 6.5, 37 °C).
Molecular Weight 58 kDa (SDS-PAGE)
Purity ≥ 90% by SDS-PAGE
Storage Buffer 50 mM phosphate buffer, pH 6.8
Storage Store at 4°C for one year or at -20°C or -80°C for two years (sub-aliquoting is recommended to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that may affect protein activity).
