| Description |
DNase I is an endonuclease that digests single- or double-stranded DNA by hydrolyzing phosphodiester bonds, generating oligonucleotides with 5’-phosphate and 3’-OH ends. Its activity requires Ca2+ and is enhanced by Mg2+ or Mn2+. In the presence of Mg2+, it cuts randomly across DNA; with Mn2+, it produces blunt or sticky ends. DNase I is widely used in DNA removal from RNA preparations and in cloning workflows. This product, purified from bovine pancreas, is supplied as a freeze-dried powder with ≥ 2000 Kunitz U/mg activity. |
